Do-It-Yourself Task Team Taster Day

This practical ‘hands on’ workshop is to enable participants to organise a group of volunteers and run successful, enjoyable and practical conservation days in churchyards.
This will be a practical day, working in small groups and will include: planning and preparing your task day, health and safety on site, working as a team – a job for everybody and making it enjoyable for all.

Join geologist Paul Olver and conservationist Sue Cooper, on a journey around some beautiful South Herefordshire Churchyards. Discover the stories of the stones and the rich variety of wildlife nestled in these sacred sites.

24hr Midsummer Wildlife Recording
Monday 20th of June 8pm until Tuesday 21st of June, 7.59pm!
Join in when you can
Join us for a 24hour attempt to record all the species in St Weonard’s churchyard on June the 21st.
Experts will be on hand at various times to help with difficult groups like lichens, mosses, beetles and bugs.
Monday will start at 8pm with small mammal trap setting. Bat and moth surveys will start after sunset. On Tuesday there will be a bat dawn watch, a dawn chorus and discovering species are in the live mammal traps.

St Frideswide Church Family Eco-Event
Saturday 11th June, 10am - 12.30pm.
Children and their families are invited to come and explore the bio-diversity of the church grounds. Owain Hegerty will lead a workshop in which you can:
- Help make the grounds more welcoming to wildlife
- Hunt for mini-beasts
- Learn more about nature
Your are invited to bring a picnic to have in the grounds after the workshop. And then to visit our sister church St Margaret's Binsey to use what you have leaned to explore the wildlife, trees and flowers in the country churchyard there.
There is no charge but a suggested donation of £2 per child or young person.
No need to book, just turn up.
