Welcome to Caring for God's Acre
Caring for God’s Acre aims to inspire and support local communities to care for churchyards and burial grounds in a way which benefits both people and wildlife.
Preserving heritage Conserving wildlife Involving communities
Churchyards and old burial grounds are ‘living sanctuaries’ providing a refuge for a rich diversity of plants and animals. They are also important places for archaeology and history, revealing evidence of the past and documenting the lives of people who have lived and worked in a parish.
