Long Grass and Yellow Rattle; St Mary's, Ampney, Gloucestershire

Flower-rich churchyard grassland sml

The Ivy Church at Ampney St Mary has a large area without monuments.  We designed an attractively shaped area to be managed for long grass.  Following a botanical survey in year 1 we have introduced Yellow Rattle.  This plant suppresses grass growth, making it a useful tool when trying to encourage an attractive show of wild flowers.

This case study will have an annual update charting progress.
